Obituary: Golden

Annabelle Golden, 90, of Forrest, passed away in her home on Sunday, December 10, 2023. 

Cremation rites have been accorded by Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Jude Research Hospital.

Annabelle was born on June 5, 1933 in White Heath, IL, the daughter of Harry and Ruth Agnes (Wittig) Alexander. She later married George Golden in 1952. He precedes her in death.

Annabelle is survived by her son, John Golden, Forrest; and two daughters, Judy Golden, Wagener, SC, and Mary (Jason Rock) Golden, Naperville. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Asher Golden-Rock, Maisie Golden-Rock, Daniel Roth, and her three great-grandchildren, McKenna Roth, Madison Roth, and Colin Roth. 

Annabelle is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and four infant children: George Joseph, Harry James, Ruth Diane, and Jeannie Annabelle. She is also preceded in death by three siblings: Howard Alexander, Marilyn Sue, and Helen Louise. 

Annabelle was a graduate of Monticello High School in the Class of 1952. She worked a long career in healthcare, including time at Fairview Haven Retirement Community. Annabelle was a caregiver, especially to those who she loved most – her grandkids, great-grandkids, and her cats.
