Obituary: Freehill




Colson P. Freehill, 34 of Somonauk, formerly of Forrest passed away at 7:30 pm, Monday, December 7, 2020 at his residence in Somonauk.


There will be a private family service, at the conclusion of the service cremation rites will be conducted, with an inurnment in Strawn Cemetery at a later date. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family of Colson Freehill.


Colson was born February 15, 1986 in Normal; a son to Dennis and Becky (Jupin) Freehill. His father, Dennis preceded him in death on March 11, 1998. One sister, Karleigh Freehill, maternal and paternal grandfather’s Larry Jupin and Joseph Freehill also preceded him in death.


Survivors include his mother, Becky Freehill of East Moline; his adored children, Emalie & Maxwell Freehill; mother of his children, Krysta Freehill of Somonauk; special friend, Dawn Austin of Somonauk; one brother, Michael (Lexy Trussel) Jupin of Chatsworth; nephews, Bryce & Carter Jupin; maternal grandmother, Sue Jupin of Forrest; paternal grandmother, Wilma Freehill of Gibson City; special aunts and uncles, Pam, Sandy (Todd), Leann (Mark), Rhonda (Mike), Lucky and Wendy, in-laws, Jerry (Gail) Hernandez and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.


Colson loved his children without limits. Colson’s happiness always came second to that of his kids. Colson loved his family and those whom he was close with. He always looked forward to his family meals and “his next meal.” Colson’s humor was loved by everyone he met.


The best days of his life were spent doing anything with his children, Emalie and Maxwell. He enjoyed events such as Monster Jam with his son and daddy-daughter dances with his daughter, as well as coaching his sons t-ball team. Colson will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
