Obituary: Czaruk

Catherine Askew Czaruk age 63 of Cocoa FL, was surrounded by her loving family as she passed away peacefully at AdventHealth, Orlando FL on Feb 12, 2023.

Cathy was born on Sept 6, 1959 in Fairbury, IL to Thomas S. Askew and Phyllis Tracy Askew Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Thomas S. Askew , her son Michael A. Czaruk III.

Her memory is being held close by those she left behind. Her loving soulmate and husband of 27 years, Michael A. Czaruk Jr. of Cocoa, FL, along with her children, Jason Kilpatrick, Bloomington, IL, Ryan Anglin, Fairbury, IL, Jared (Kim) Carpenter, Gibson City, IL, Kiley (Charlie) Nelson, Tampa, FL, Abbey Carpenter, Cocoa, FL, Alexandra (Jeff) Czaruk, Henderson, NV, Sara'Nicole (Jason) Prock, Hagerstown, MD. She also leaves behind 21 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren that she absolutely adored. Being the baby sister, she will be deeply missed by her 2 sisters Debbie (Ken) VanScoyoc and Kay (David) Turner, both of Pontiac, IL.

Cathy attended Fairbury-Cropsey High School, class of 1977. Living in the Foosland and Gibson City area, she worked at Gibson City Hospital until her move to Florida in 1997. In Florida, she found her passion working at the Boca Village Animal Hospital and Colonial Animal Hospital in Boynton Beach, FL. The friends and animals, including baby tigers, were blessed to have her on their staff.

It would be easier to count the number of stars in the sky than to name the nieces, nephews, co-workers and friends who had their lives touched by this amazing woman. And, though we will miss her amazing homemade noodles, loud faithful cheering for her Pittsburgh Steelers, and unconditional love, we can rest assured that she is now pain free, loving on all animals that have ever crossed that rainbow bridge, and is practicing her alligator wrangling and ninja agility skills to perfection.

We are all comforted knowing the last time we talked, our chats were ended with "I love you". Cathy loved deeply, honestly and open, never missing the opportunity to let those she loved hear those words.

The family would like to invite you to attend a celebration of life for Cathy on Saturday, June 10, 2023, from 1:00-6:00 pm, at the Gibson City American Legion Hall, 203 N. Sangamon Ave, Gibson City, IL.
