Obituary: Boner

Lorene Geyer Boner, 101, Fairbury, passed away at 8:59 pm Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Her funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, January 8, 2026 at the Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury with the ministers of the church officiating.  Burial will be in the North Apostolic Christian Cemetery, Forrest.

Visitation will be 9:00 to 9:45 am Thursday also at the church.  Memorials may be directed to Fairview Haven Retirement Community or SELCAS, both in Fairbury.  Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements.

Lorene was born November 9, 1924 in Francesville, IN the daughter of Alpha and Elizabeth Yaggie Geyer.  She married David A. Boner on October 20, 1979 in Forrest, IL.  He preceded her in death on July 29, 1998.

She is survived by a special nephew, John Schlipf and a special friend and caregiver, Bev Young.

She is preceded in death by a sister, Velda Schlipf.

Lorene attended the Fairbury Apostolic Christian Church.  She enjoyed traveling, especially her bus trips.  She loved animals and was an excellent pie baker.
