New members take the oath

Monday's Livingston County Board meeting was held via Zoom and in person.

Fairbury’s own Seth Welch was sworn-in as a newly elected member of the Livingston County Board during the group’s reorganizational meeting held Monday evening in Pontiac.

“You’re looking at someone who believes in conservative values,” Welch said.

He promised those he represents he would fight to make their lives even a “tiny bit better.” Welch noted he wants to make sure the county has good paying jobs and a government that delivers.

The other new member, Scott Mennenga of Pontiac, also addressed the board and noted he looks forward to serving and getting to know everyone.

After Judge Jennifer Bauknecht administered the oath to board members, Kathy Arbogast was chosen as Livingston County Board chair while Jason Bunting was selected for vice-chair.

“My door is always open to each and every one of you,” Arobgast said. “Thank you for your trust in me.”

Committee assignments are expected to be announced soon.
