Luke Ifft and Hannah Miller were all smiles Wednesday evening after being crowned the 2025 Livingston County Fair king and queen.

Not only are both from Prairie Central, but they were also in FFA together.

“We went from Ag Mechanics in FFA to this in not too long of a time,” said Ifft.

The pair even helped each other campaign around the fairgrounds Monday with candy for the kids.

Both agreed it felt good to receive the honor.

“It’s really rewarding to be fair queen,” observed Miller. “It’s something that I’ve looked forward to.”

Ifft followed in his sister’s shoes as she was queen a few years back.

Miller is the 18-year-old daughter of Matt and Tammy Miller and a member of the Tractor Wheels 4-H Club.

“I started showing at the Livingston County Fair when I was eight with pigs,” she recalled. “I’ve shown pigs and sheep at the fair with many other general projects.”

In the fall, Miller plans to attend Blackhawk East College, competing on the livestock judging team with plans to transfer to a four-year university to pursue an advanced degree in ag business with a minor in animal science.

Ifft is the 18-year-old son of Tom and Amy Ifft. The Prairie Central graduate has been a 4-H member since he was a Cloverbud.

“Ever since I was able to, I’ve been showing horses here at the Livingston County Fair,” stated Ifft.

Ifft plans to attend Parkland College studying diesel power.

Both agreed that putting in hard work and having fun are keys to success for the younger 4-H members and future king and queen candidates.

“It’s all rewarding and we can say we are thankful for the opportunities we’ve had at the fair as well as showing our livestock at different places,” added Miller.

“Get involved in everything you can,” suggested Ifft.

Others running for king and queen included Todd Palmer, Taylor Heidenreich, Olivia Fye, Brianna Hilleary and Alexa Hittle.

Phil and Angie Kratochvil donated the trophies.
