The community is invited to help the Indian Creek Country Club mark 100 years with a celebration on Saturday (July 19).
A hog roast and free concert is included in the celebration.
The member golf outing starts at 9:30 a.m. and the dinner serving starts at 5 p.m. The hog was donated with the club providing the sides.
“We’ve got a bunch of people making a pretty good dessert table from what I’m hearing,” said Corbin Huber, Indian Creek Country Club board secretary and publicity chair.
The Pistol Packin’ Mommas perform from 7 to 8:30 p.m. with Kaylyn Pace taking the spotlight from 8:30 to 11 p.m. The food and music are free and open to the public.
A centennial doesn’t come around often, so organizers wanted to celebrate.
“Obviously, we won’t be around to see the next one so it seemed like a fine time to do something for the members of the public,” adds Huber.
This is a way for the Indian Creek Country Club to give back for the support shown over the years.
“In simple Fairbury fashion, let’s roast a hog and get some music going so everyone can enjoy the evening.”
Limited parking is available so attendees are encouraged to bring golf carts. Otherwise, a shuttle will be offered from Dave’s parking lot to the clubhouse lot from 6 p.m. to midnight.
“It takes a community to keep this golf course running,” noted Huber.
