The Prairie Central High School cheer team honored several local breast cancer survivors during last Friday’s “Pink Out” home football game against Monticello on senior night.

“We were super excited that we could take an opportunity to showcase such a hard road these gals have had,” said Chastity Pick, assistant football cheer coach.

The survivors all wore pink carnations and were “pampered a little,” according to Pick. They received gift bags, received preferential seating on the bleachers and introduced on the track prior to the game.

PCHS comes up with the themes for all of the home football games and this was the “Pink Out.” The education and support has increased for this effort.

“We passed out informational handouts to gals who came in the gate tonight and we had public service announcements,” Pick adds.
