Blood drive collects 48 units

Fairbury’s Sept. 24 blood drive, held at the First United Methodist Church, collected 48 units.
First time donors were Charlie Tjarks and Brandon Slagel.
Donors reaching milestones were Levi Steidinger, two gallons; Kyle Kaskavage, Becky Hansen and Jacob Leman, all three gallons; Barb Schlatter, four gallons; Sheila Knutson, 14 gallons; Joe Palen, 19 gallons; and June Yoder, 23 gallons.
Also donating were MaryAnn Stork, Karl Edelman, Michael Onsager, John Teubel, Beau Popejoy, Neil Bahler, Jeff Ifft, Amy Kostesich, Montie Gerber, Nancy Kahle, Sharon McCoy, Barbara Gregory, Bethany Brucker, Michael Kessinger, Leslie Slagel, Bryan Aberle, Val Broquard, Ted Bachtold and Betty Dray.
Others donating were Patricia Steidinger, Cindy Ifft, Russell Tjarks, Aimee Boulware, Kent Edelman, Dustin Slagel, Will Barsema, Catherine Bessen Toohill, James Kearny, Dalton York, Darren Maurer, Erin Bittner, Ashley Zimmerman, Brian Hansen, Jayna Casner, Joel Zimmerman, Olivia Zimmerman, Aaron Brock, Jennifer Teubel and Carmen Dotterer.
Donors came from Forrest, Chatsworth, Chenoa, Fairbury, Lexington, Emington, Sibley and Colfax.
The Presbyterian Church Women furnished a Dave’s gift card to provide food for the donors and provided cookies. Cookies were donated by Jill Frase, Sherrie Schmidgall and Bethany Brucker.
Volunteers working at the bloodmobile were Judy Bennett, Lolita Dunahee, Karen Harms, MaryAnn Stork, Deb Moran, Kathy Fehr, Linda Zick, Barb Taylor, Kathy Cook, Teresa Palen, Katie Cavanagh, Teresa Thomas, Bev Forneris, Jeanie Searby, Lisa Kilgus, Liz Freeland and Mary Zimmerman.

Your next opportunity to donate blood will be Wednesday, Oct. 22, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church.
