Unbeaten Hawks fall in stunner

PC's Dylan Bazzell and Drew Fehr try to stop Dee-Mack Saturday night at Eureka College.

The Dee-Mack Chiefs were celebrating on the court Saturday evening as they pulled off a stunner, knocking off unbeaten Prairie Central in varsity high school basketball action at the Eureka College shootout.

Prairie Central was handed its first loss of the year with a final score of 46-45. Dee-Mack stormed back from a double-digit deficit. The Hawks are now 9-1 on the season. Dylan Bazzell led the scoring with a game-high 20, Tyler Curl had 7 while Drew Haberkorn scored 8 points.

Attention now turns to the Williamsville Holiday Tournament the week after Christmas when the number one seed Hawks play Roanoke-Benson at 9 a.m. Dec. 27. If PC wins, they will play the winner of the matchup between Quest Academy and Dee-Mack which could potentially be a rematch of Saturday’s game. Fairbury News will broadcast the Williamsville Tournament games.
