Boys roll into '23 on high note

The PC boys celebrate their Williamsville Tourney championship, as shown on Fairbury News.

PC rolled through the Williamsville Holiday Tournament last week, winning the championship game over East Peoria 55-34 on Friday.

Head coach Darin Bazzell credits a strong defensive effort and unselfish play to the Hawks’ success in the tourney. Friday’s leading scorers and all-tournament first team selections Tyler Curl and Dylan Bazzell each had 14 points. Drew Fehr contributed 11, Levi Goad had 8 and Camden Palmore and Gage Steidinger had 4.

In Thursday’s semi-final matchup, the Hawks defeated Illini Prairie Conference foe Tolono Unity 58-42. Both teams played great defense and leading scorers included Dylan Bazzell with 23, Tyler Curl with 17, Levi Goad with 8 and Camden Palmore with 7.

The JV Hawks defeated Williamsville on Friday 50-43, moving to 4-2 on the season.

The Fairbury News Hawk broadcast team consisting of Joel Swanson, Marc Strauss, Jason Whitfill, Lane Whitfill and Tyler Swanson was there to cover all of the hoop action. PC looks ahead to a home game Tuesday night (Jan. 3) against El Paso-Gridley to be played at Fairbury.
