Boys open tourney with win




PC battles Roanoke Benson Monday morning at the Williamsville Holiday Tourney.

Aggressive defense, balanced scoring and free throw success led the Prairie Central boys basketball team to a 63-40 victory over Roanoke Benson in the opening game of the Williamsville Holiday Tournament Monday.


Drew Fehr led the Hawks with 11 points while Drew Haberkorn and Levi Goad each had 10, Tyler Curl and Dylan Bazzell each had 9 and Camden Palmore contributed 8.


PC now plays the Williamsville junior varsity team at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The JV team is taking the place of Peoria Quest who is not playing in the tournament due to illness. That team pulled off a shocker on Monday, defeating eighth seed Dee-Mack.
